Accountant

Stocksy United is on the hunt for an Accountant who understands accounting principles in e-commerce like the back of their hand. We’re looking for a seriously talented, tech-savvy individual who strives to provide fair credit practices and collection regulations while utilizing their strong analytical and problem solving skills. Our ideal candidate is always thinking outside of the box, and finding new ways Finance can break the mould and revolutionize the industry.


About You

You’re highly organized, detail-oriented and possess the ability to effectively work both independently or in a team setting. You’re an accounting whiz who displays excellent verbal and written communication. You demonstrate a strong work ethic and persevere with confidence to work through challenges in order to get the job done.

Initial Responsibilities:

  • Daily sales control document and entry of sales into accounting program on a daily basis
  • Client deposits control document and entry of transactions in accordance to established procedures
  • Maintain membership control document, creation of new accounts and processing new membership transactions
  • New accounts creation & updating of QuickBooks profiles
  • Importing bulk transactions into Quickbooks with accuracy using a third party importing tool
  • Processing incoming client payments thru multiple payment methods ie. cheques, wire transfers and online transactions following established protocols
  • Monitoring and reporting of account receivable aging for further actions
  • Daily processing of incoming mail & email, addressing or routing actionable items to the appropriate team member
  • Daily scanning and filing of documents into corporate drive
  • Client account auditing and reconciliation
  • Any other tasks or finance requirements as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in accounting or finance fields, ideally pursuing CPA designation
  • Three or more years’ experience with Bookkeeping and General Accounting in a variety of industries
  • Previous experience or solid understanding of the unique business requirements associated with a nonprofit or cooperative preferred
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Gmail and Google Drive
  • Experience with Ecommerce and payment processing reconciliation is highly desirable
  • High level of accountability and ownership of duties
  • The ability to see large complex projects or tasks through to completion
  • Highly functioning organizational skills
  • Ability to investigate and report on issues or anomalies in a concise,factual manner
  • Willingness to engage in independent learning and self-education in order to be the best team member you can be
  • High level of proficiency with online applications and data retrieval
  • Fluency in a second language is beneficial

Corporate Creative Liaison

Stocksy is on the hunt for a Corporate Creative Liaison to help fuel our rapid growth. We’re a co-op that specializes in providing high end curated stock photography and cinematography to an international client base that includes the world’s biggest brands and agencies. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be helping our client base find the perfect stills and video to meet their project needs, with an aim to surprise and inspire.

We are headquartered in Victoria, BC, and although our search is focused on local candidates, we do consider talented individuals in other time zones.


About You

You bring high-energy, enthusiasm and professionalism to hit the ground running, working well independently and collaboratively. You’re not afraid to work in a fast-paced, and quickly evolving tech environment. You’re passionate about photography and cinematography, and you go the extra mile to make sure people can find specific content within the collection.

Initial Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing support and services to our clients and photographers by responding to creative research inquiries in a timely manner with a confirmed turnaround time (usually within 24 hours of initial email)
  • Promote our products and services by maintaining a high level of energy and enthusiasm for the brand when corresponding with clients and members about creative research and VIP programs
  • Field questions about licensing, pricing, account set-up, and other queries in a passionate, personable, and authentic way
  • Be the primary point of contact for creative research and ensure there is always a backup plan in place for when you’re unable to respond to requests within 24 hours
  • Manage the administrative needs of our growing photography-for-hire services in collaboration with both legal and product teams
  • Work with Client Relations, Business Development and the Executive Team to strategize ways to deepen engagement and retention of clients
  • Execute engagement and retention strategies with Client Relations team
  • Adhere to defined workflows as determined by Client Relations and Executive team
  • Monitor the incoming queue daily to ensure an intimate and current knowledge of the collection
  • Provide a monthly summary of content requests to be shared with Client Relations, Editor and Executive Teams
  • Keep data up to date in third party programs
  • Other special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service environment (optional)
  • 2+ years of photo licensing experience (optional)
  • 2+ years of professional photography or photo editing experience (optional)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong passion for technology and photography
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Fluency in second language is beneficial
  • Experience working with Zendesk, Salesforce or other customer service platforms is highly desirable
