Marketing

Marketing Director

Status:Full-Time
Location:Remote
Hours:9:00am - 5:00pm PST, Monday-Friday


The Marketing Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of Stocksy’s marketing strategies. Through executive leadership and oversight of Stocksy’s marketing initiatives, this role brings a strategic perspective to all marketing functions, and monitors, analyses, and adapts marketing activity against co-op goals. By working collaboratively with other departments to ensure marketing strategy and activity aligns with broader co-op strategy, the Marketing Director drives revenue growth and brand exposure through marketing campaigns, business development, customer retention, contributor retention, market research, and a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape.


You are:

You have:

  • 6+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in marketing (ideally from a creative, media, agency, or related environment)
  • Experience developing, implementing, executing, and assessing strategic marketing plans that align with and support other organizational strategies and priorities
  • Experience mentoring, developing, and leading marketing teams and cross-functional groups with proven success
  • Experience working in environments that serve enterprise clients and critical partnerships
  • An analytical mindset with experience establishing KPIs and recommendations based on quantitative information
  • Expertise in digital marketing, funnel development, and demonstrated ability using performance metrics to track progress on goal achievement
  • Excellent cross-platform technical skills in project management (Trello, Asana etc.)
  • Experience working in a variety of markets internationally and customizing marketing approaches to appeal to different verticals and geographical regions
  • Experience planning and executing media relations strategies and/or working closely with media-relations teams
  • Flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing business conditions and priorities
  • Experience leading and working with international and remote teams in a collaborative, Agile environment

Responsibilities:

  • Build, implement, drive, and evaluate the marketing strategy for the cooperative, including advertising campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR to increase Stocksy’s brand awareness, product positioning, and lead generation
  • Mentor, engage, and oversee overall efficiency and performance of the Marketing team
  • Define, drive, and continually assess department objectives through regular analytics and reporting on core KPI’s including customer behaviour
  • Constantly have a pulse on marketing trends/opportunities to ensure Stocksy stays meaningful and relevant to our current and future clients and contributors
  • Implement marketing reporting improvements to track and evaluate key metrics required to support data driven decisions
  • Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions
  • Manage Marketing budget activity, ensuring expenditures are supported through market research and ROI evaluation
  • Coordinate all cross-functional marketing activities with Product & Design, Sales, Technology, Finance, Artist Relations, Legal, and other stakeholder teams
  • Own, optimize and execute paid media including social, SEO, and display to drive scale while sustaining performance objectives

Artist Relations

Junior Editor (Video)

Status:Independent Contractor - Fixed Term
Location:Remote
Hours:Part Time


Reporting directly to the Editor Lead (or designate), the Junior Editor (video) is responsible for providing administrative work and support to our co-op & Editor team in order to develop, maintain, and expand relationships and Stocksy’s video collection.


You are:

  • A Stocksy contributor
  • Articulate and analytical
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, driven to manage completion of assigned tasks
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, and a strong attention to detail
  • A strong communicator who enjoys collaborative, team-based environments and is able to offer and receive constructive, honest feedback
  • A natural affinity for making processes more effective and streamlined

You have:

  • A strong understanding of professional cinematography, both aesthetic and technical
  • Familiarity with Stocksy’s Image Manager tool
  • Proficiency with learning new digital tools and troubleshooting
  • Expertise at selecting appropriate gifs for any given situation
  • Experience working with international and remote teams in a collaborative, Agile environment
  • Great respect for artists’ work and a desire to help people succeed

Responsibilities:

  • Mentorship and Community Engagement
  • Provide constructive, reasonable, and helpful feedback on artists’ work
  • Be a mentor to the Stocksy community through active participation in Co-op activities
  • Uphold a professional, supportive, and engaged public presence when representing Stocksy and interacting with the membership internally & externally
  • Provide clear, consistent, and open communication with membership through feedback, support, and forum posts
  • Collection Management
  • Consistently review assigned assets within set guidelines for the team
  • Maintain the aesthetic and technical standards of the Stocksy collection while reviewing
  • Exercise attention to detail to ensure minimal liability and risk of all content submitted and approved to the collection (ie. copyright, trademark, model and property releases)
  • Maintain consistency of accepting, declining and returning for send-back files submitted to Stocksy by the membership, and be willing and able to discuss your editing choices with the team and contributors
  • Keyword and create metadata for video content
  • Participate constructively in team discussions about the collection standards, the queue, and past reviews
