Turkey’s Impossibly Colourful Architecture ℅ Yener Torun
A master of colour theory bridled by sharp geometry, Yener Torun’s photography is nothing short of breathtaking. Based in Istanbul, but photographing buildings all over Turkey, Torun offers stark contrasts not only within his photo compositions but in his framing of Turkish architecture. A far cry from traditional Baroque or Ottoman style landmarks often representative of the urban Turkish landscape, Torun’s images feature hard lines, vivid colour, and dramatic minimalism. These architectural idiosyncrasies born of Torun’s love for geometry serve as colour oases amidst the grey pallor of urban sprawl.
