Foggy green Andean valley with dead papaya

Lomas de Lachay is located north of Peru's capital Lima. Most of the year it is a desert valley like much of the coastline, however in the change from dry to wet seasons, the increasing moisture from the Pacific condenses into a thick, perpetual fog that saturates the ground enough for life to flourish for a few months. First the ground is carpetted in green before erupting into an intense yellow bloom. At one point the valley had more water, and a forrest of Papaya took root. The valley has since dried out, the Papaya died, but their skeletons remain.
